An R-rated Pokémon Brilliant Diamond glitch sees the naughty Beaver Pokémon Bibarel engage in some on-screen breeding. The recently-released remake brings 2006’s Pokémon Diamond, and its companion Pokémon Pearl, into the modern age with graphical updates and gameplay adjustments. While many franchise fans have praised the revitalized versions of these classic Pokémon titles, Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl’s numerous glitches can mar an otherwise delightful nostalgic experience.

In remaking Nintendo’s 2006 Pokémon series entries, developer ICLA has introduced many bizarre glitches and bugs into Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. One particularly memorable visual glitch caused a massive Infernape to appear menacingly in the background during an intense battle. While the flaming simian appeared to be a simple static image that quickly disappeared, the glitch was funny nonetheless. While mere visual hiccups are harmless, such as a cutscene that makes Team Galactic apparently steal a player’s Pokémon, Pokémon BDSP also includes some truly frustrating or even game-breaking glitches. One player recently found themselves trapped in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond’s Snowpoint City Gym while attempting to solve a puzzle involving giant snowballs. Arranging the obstacles in a certain order trapped the unfortunate trainer, and the game’s autosave feature meant that they were unable to escape even by loading a previous save.

Now a harmless but extremely hilarious Pokémon Brilliant Diamond glitch, reported by Dexerto, makes it appear as if a trainer’s Bibarel is breeding on-screen. Twitter user Swampert Tube encountered the public love-making while attempting to use Surf with their trusty beaver-like companion. However, when Bibarel arrived it appeared to be in a compromising position with another Bibarel, which no doubt resulted in some shock for Swampert Tube. The player’s Bibarel seems to have quite varied taste, as well, since Swampert Tube also walked in on an encounter between the Bibarel and a Staraptor while attempting to Fly across Pokémon BDSP’s Sinnoh map.

Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl’s glitches range from humorous, like the giant Infernape or Swampert Tube’s physically active Bibarel, to truly game-breaking or even advantageous for players. Pokémon BDSP’s duplication glitch, for example, can give players a huge advantage by allowing them to clone useful items or even Pokémon. The exploit is surprisingly straightforward to pull off, with players required to simply visit Solaceon Town’s daycare and move some of their pocket monsters around in the Battle Box. The process requires one Pokémon to be destroyed, but it can allow players to create a clone army of Legendary Pokémon or mass-produce powerful items like the Master Ball.

In many aspects, Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl are effective remakes that capture the original titles’ nostalgic style while also updating gameplay for the modern day. Unfortunately, Pokémon BDSP’s ongoing glitch problem also makes the title feel janky and incomplete at times. While some of these issues can really break the game, other bugs like Swampert Tube’s lustful Bibarel are simply hilarious and need no fixing.
