The first top 100 players in FIFA 22 have now been released, and there are a number of English players that appear on that list.

This list takes a look at the top 10 rated English players, from Harry Kane to Luke Shaw. Almost every English player in the top 25 plays in the Premier League, although Tomori, Bellingham, and Trippier do play in different European leagues.

  • Luke Shaw – 84 Rated
  • Phil Foden – 84 Rated
  • Jack Grealish – 84 Rated
  • Marcus Rashford – 85 Rated

  • Jamie Vardy – 86 Rated
  • Jadon Sancho – 87 Rated

  • Harry Kane – 90 Rated

Despite these high ratings, no English player manages to slide into the best starting 11 in FIFA 22.

10 Luke Shaw – 84 Rated

FIFA 22 Best English Players

Luke Shaw has received a massive rating boost in FIFA 22, up from 81 to 84. This boost is focused on some key areas: his passing is up by 5 points, his defending gets an extra point, and his defending and dribbling have been increased, too.

9 Phil Foden – 84 Rated

FIFA 22 Best English Players

Foden is another player with a massive boost in FIFA 22. His FIFA 21 card was only a base rating of 79, but he’s jumped all the way up to 84 after a successful season with Manchester City. There are some massive stat boosts here: he has 84 Pace, up from 75, and 87 Dribbling, up from 81. This card is actually usable in FIFA 22.

8 Jack Grealish – 84 Rated

FIFA 22 Best English Players

The 100 million pound man, Grealish also receives a big boost on his FIFA 21 stats. He’s up by 4 points from 80 to 84 and has 4 extra points of pace, 3 extra in passing, and 4 more in dribbling. Grealish also has a OTW card for the start of FIFA — worth picking up? He’s started in every City game so far this season.

7 Marcus Rashford – 85 Rated

FIFA 22 Best English Players

Rashford maintains his 85 rating from FIFA 21, but some of his stats have seen some small reductions. He’s down from 91 Pace to 90, a point dropped from dribbling and a point from physicality. His shooting and passing have gone up, though. Rashford still has 5-star skills so expect to see him in pretty much every Weekend League team for the first three months.

6 Kyle Walker – 85 Rated

FIFA 22 Best English Players

Kyle Walker’s 85 rated card is pretty much identical to his FIFA 21 card. The only difference is an extra point in dribbling, up to 78. He’s still one of the fastest defenders in the game and was often placed in a central role thanks to FIFA 21’s broken defender mechanics. That is fixed this year, but he’s still a reliable pickup for pace at the back in a Premier League team.

5 Jamie Vardy – 86 Rated

FIFA 22 Best English Players

Jamie Vardy keeps his 86 rating from FIFA 21, but he’s had a hit to pace: down to 85 from 88. Vardy keeps impressing with Leicester and will likely end the game with a much higher-rated card, like the 94 TOTS card from last year. Will Vardy fit into the meta, or will faster forwards rule the roost again?

4 Jadon Sancho – 87 Rated

FIFA 22 Best English Players

Despite a big summer signing for Manchester United, Jadon Sancho’s FIFA 22 card is pretty much unchanged from FIFA 21. He’s actually got less pace, but a small boost to shooting and passing. Like Rashford, Sancho has 5-star skills, so even though he’s not the quickest player, you can still expect to see him in Premier League teams for the next couple of months, at least. Sancho is also one of the best players in the game under the age of 25.

3 Trent Alexander-Arnold – 87 Rated

FIFA 22 Best English Players

Into the top three, and Trent is up there as one of the highest-rated defenders in FIFA 22. His 79 Pace might put him at a disadvantage against speedier defenders, but maybe the meta will have changed. There’s no reason why you wouldn’t want Trent in your team: 88 Passing is enough, as well as uncharacteristically high dribbling and shooting for a full back.

2 Raheem Sterling – 88 Rated

FIFA 22 Best English Players

After a stellar performance at the Euros, Sterling retains his 88 rating even if he hasn’t seen the same success with Manchester City. His card is virtually unchanged from FIFA 21, although he’s dropped two points of pace and three points of dribbling. He’s still going to be a reliable card up top in a Premier League team.

1 Harry Kane – 90 Rated

Premier League golden boot winner Harry Kane is the highest-rated English player in FIFA 22. The first properly usable card last year was his Halloween card which saw his pace boosted to above 90 for the first time. Like in FIFA 21, Kane’s pace is pretty low in 22, at 70. Two more than last year but still not fast enough to fit into the pacey meta.
