It’s hardly been twelve hours since Mihoyo shared its teaser for Arataki Itto on Twitter, but Teyvat’s next Geo user is already beloved by all. The mysterious gang leader is outpacing the wildly popular Raiden Shogun in the race for engagement, and has all of us collectively rethinking any plans we may have had for stashes of precious Primogems.

Itto’s reveal is a bit of a strange one, considering in-depth leaks for the dreamy Claymore-wielding hero didn’t drop months in advance. Mihoyo has alluded to his existence through in-game lore dumps, voice lines, and passing NPC mentions, but his surprise announcement today marked his official confirmation with only a small peek at who he is. None of that’s important though—who cares about a kit reveal when you’re that hunky?

Over on Twitter, Mihoyo’s English account for Genshin Impact only makes two mentions of Itto, but at the time of writing this, they’re already over a collective 160,000 retweets and 370,000 likes. The announcement of just his existence is already more popular than any of us could ever hope to be, and players have some thoughts on the head of the Arataki gang. None of which you could safely repeat at work, and a few replies warrant hiding your phone in public. Folks are… eager to spend their Primogems on Itto.

The Raiden Shogun, Genshin Impact’s playable Electro Archon, has arguably been one of the game’s most popular, but if you’re only going off of Twitter, she just doesn’t hold up to Itto. In fairness, it’s probably because the community already knew so much about her leading into her banner, and leaks ahead of time spoiled the excitement well in advance. Itto is undeniably a Genshin Impact star already though, one that comes just after the RPG climbed to the top of September’s mobile gaming charts despite a nasty series of review bombs from players.

Other Genshin Impact favorites, like Keqing, have their own dedicated subreddits, and Itto of course already has his own. It’s a thirsty corner of the fandom, already filled with illustration after illustration of Itto’s bare abs and digs at the Geo element’s other desirable lord, Zhongli.

No matter what, there’s room in my heart—and my messy roster—for two Geo hotties. Limited resources be damned, some of us are in the comments with a change of plans for our Primos. A party with Zhongli and Itto gives you a spicy Elemental Resonance anyway, so pull away when his banner rolls around, there’s room for both.
