All four of the Ghostbusters shine brightly as icons of cinema. However, of the four, Winston Zeddemore as portrayed by Ernie Hudson was given the least amount of screentime by comparison. That said, Winston still managed to steal the show with his charm and love for the job.

The climax of Ghostbusters: Afterlife saw the return of Gozer the Gozerian and the original Ghostbusters. Gozer does indeed remember their encounter with the boys in beige, so Gozer coyly asks, “Are you…a god?” The Ghostbusters all respond in humorous ways.

As Ray, Egon, and Winston investigate the abandoned subways in search of the river of slime, ghosts begin attacking them. One of them happens to be an actual ghost train that Ray and Egon quickly get out of the way of while Winston just stands there, screaming as the train passed right through him.
It’s already hilarious with the way Winston screams but it becomes even funnier when all Egon cares about is which train it was. He asks Winston if he caught the number on the locomotive and a still shocked Winston says, “Sorry. I missed it…”

“If There’s A Steady Paycheck In It, I’ll Believe In Anything You Say.” – Ghostbusters
It would seem that Winston is the only person to actually apply for the job of a Ghostbuster. Granted, he might not have believed in what they were doing at first as suggested when Janine gives him a massive list of supernatural threats.
A little overwhelmed by it, Winston replies in the most charismatic way possible, “If there’s a steady paycheck in it, I’ll believe in anything you say.” Beginning Winston’s long career as a Ghostbuster who takes things with stride.

Ghostbusters: Afterlife takes a page from Marvel by having a post-credit scene that shows that Winston is readying to open up the firehouse and revamp the Ghostbusters for future sequels. During this, the scene keeps cutting back over to Winston speaking with Janine, talking about how he’s covering Ray’s rent and reminiscing the day he arrived at the firehouse.
He’s happy about his success since then, “I may be a businessman but I will always be a Ghostbuster.” It’s a heartfelt speech that makes it clear that Winston will never stop being a supernatural elimination specialist.

Despite this sometimes overly arrogant nature and how much trouble they can get into, Winston and his buddies come out on top.
