15 Bonnie Wright Had No Experience in Acting When She Landed the Role of Ginny Weasley
Bonnie Wright wasn’t originally an actress. She was only ten years old when audiences first saw her emerge on screen as the young redhead in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, and was only nine years old when she landed the part. Before then, she hadn’t really thought much about acting.

There are a few reasons as to why this might be one of Wright’s favorite quotes. It could be because it was the first words of encouragement Ginny said to Harry, or because it was the first time the audience got to see Ginny. It could also just be because this one moment shows where Ginny’s heart is.

1 Ginny and Voldemort’s Wands Share the Same Wood
Ginny’s wand is made from yew, just like Lord Voldemort’s. Last year J.K. Rowling tweeted images and explanations of wand designs for a few of the Harry Potter characters, including Ginny’s. It might be a coincidence that Ginny and Voldemort share the same wand wood, but that’s highly doubtful.
A wizard or witch’s wand says a lot about them. According to Pottermore, yew wands are incredibly rare, good for curses, and meant for people who are protectors. A yew wand would never choose an owner who was in any way timid or not willing to live up to the greatest potential.
