There are plenty of things to do after you’ve beaten the main story of Marvel’s Avengers. One of the most common activities is to play through the giant Reigning Supreme mission chain to halt AIM’s progress. To complete the operation, you’ll have to do plenty of things, including beating another mission chain called Vault Onboarding.

As the name suggests, this chain is all about finding and completing vaults. You may have already done one earlier in your adventure, but that doesn’t count for this set of quests. You need to discover another vault, beat it, and then complete a harder one. Here is all the information you need to do just that.

How To Find A Shield Cache

The only way to discover the location of a vault is to find a Shield cache. Unfortunately, locating one of these caches might be the hardest part of the mission chain as the game doesn’t give you a clue to their whereabouts. It turns out they’re hidden within certain War Zone missions in the game. Here are three of them:

  • Stark Realities (Pacific Northwest)
  • Our Town (Utah Badlands)
  • The Inhuman Condition (Utah Badlands)

You only need to locate one cache for Vault Onboarding. Therefore, let’s find the one in The Inhuman Condition. Alternatively, we already have a guide about finding the cache in Stark Realities.

The Shield Cache In The Inhuman Condition

It doesn’t particularly matter which character you choose to play for this mission, but you’d probably get to the cache quicker if you can fly.

Once you start the quest, you can instantly head towards the main objective marker. While there, you will find some Inhumans locked up and plenty of enemies.

You don’t need to deal with them as finishing this mission isn’t a priority. Therefore, head straight through them into the next area.

Now, at this point, you want to hug the left wall and follow it for a while. Eventually, you’ll get to a gap that’s designed for you to jump across, but don’t. Instead, turn left and go that way for a little bit, then turn right to head out into the open.

Keep going forward until you get a radar on the left corner of your screen. The number on it indicates how close you are to the cache, so use it to find its exact location. Once you do, a button should appear on your screen that you need to hold. A door to an underground bunker will then open, and inside they’ll be a marked chest that contains a vault location. After you open the case, you can then choose to return to the Quinjet from the pause menu as you don’t need to finish the mission.

How To Complete A Vault

Once you’ve got a cache, you’ll be able to see the location of a vault on the War Table. It doesn’t matter which vault it is, as they all function the same way.

Upon starting the vault mission, you’ll have to roam around the area until you have a radar in the top left of your screen. As you did with the cache, simply move in the direction that causes the radar’s number to fall. When it gets to zero, you will be at the desired location, so hold down the button shown on-screen to gain access to another bunker.

Use the elevator and then enter the main room to find the vault door with a console in front of it. Once you’ve interacted with the console, the process of opening the door will begin.

At this point, you should have a few numbers in the top left of your screen. It just so happens that the underground area you’re in has a bunch of numbered terminals. You need to go to the ones that correspond with the numbers you’re given.

Once they’re all activated, you need to return to the vault door and defend the area for a while. At certain points, Jarvis may point out that a hacker is trying to undo your work, so you need to take them down to continue. After the bar in the top left is filled, an EMP goes off and kills every enemy. Then you have to repeat the process several more times to open the vault. With the door unlocked, you can head inside and loot the place.

The Elite Vault

By doing the previous vault, you will now have unlocked an elite vault. As always, you can initiate this mission by using the War Table. Finding and doing this elite vault isn’t any different than completing a regular one.

The only dissimilarity is that the enemies in this version are tougher. So, just do the same things you did for the last one, but be careful when you get into combat. In fact, it’s probably best to play as one of the better playable characters. Once you’ve looted the place, you’ll have completed the Vault Onboarding mission chain.
