The Real Housewives of New York City has been gracing our screen for the past 12 seasons. In those 12 seasons, fans have been introduced to 16 different house housewives and tons of drama. Not much has changed in the past 12 seasons—besides the cast—but the reality TV show continues to get better and better.

10 Bethenny’s Epic Meltdown With Luann

In the episode “Life Is Not a Cabaret,” all the women are having a fantastic time in Miami, but when Luann’s personal life takes a nosedive, feelings get hurt. Luann is getting over a quickie wedding and divorce from Tom, along with getting arrested. She was joining AA meetings and looking for a better path but was pissing everyone off along the way.

One night at dinner, Bethenny finally had enough of Luann’s selfishness and exploded in front of everyone. Here was a group of women that truly cared about Luann but they were being dismissed. Bethenny held back tears as she resited everything she’s done for her and how she’s falling apart. It was both amazing to watch and incredibly heartbrakng.

9 Scary Island

In the episode “Sun, Sand, and Psychosis,” the ladies of RHONY were vacationing on St. John’s. After too much sun and too many glasses of wine, Kelly Killoren Bensimon went off the deep end. It was hard for viewers to understand why she was acting the way she was acting because nothing she said made any sense.

While at dinner, Kelly tells Bethenny she’s both vindictive and creepy before chowing down on gummi bears. She continued to spout nonsense at anyone who spoke, which made fans re-name this episode “Scary Island.”

8 Aviva’s Iconic Leg Throw

In the sixth season of RHONY, Aviva Drescher is on her second season as a main cast member. What separated Aviva from the rest was that she had a prosthetic leg. She was the perfect image of a woman who didn’t let her deformity slow her down or stop her from enjoying her life. But in the episode “The Last Leg,” Aviva becomes so irate at the girls that she literally takes off her prosthetic leg and screams “The only fake thing about me is this!” and slams her leg down on the table. The action forced a few housewives to run away from the table in sheer embarrassment and laugh at the oddness of it all.

7 When Ramona Threw A Glass At Kristen

The women of New York love going to the Berkshires. They typically head there for a weekend of fun girls’ time but this weekend was different. Former housewife Kristen Taekman and Ramona Singer got into an argument that never cooled down.

Meanwhile, a few of the women were in canoes while Kristen and Heather were quietly swimming nearby. The two women swimming heard Ramona talking poorly about Kristen so they decided to splash water on them as retaliation. Well, Ramona didn’t seem to like that because seconds later she threw her wine glass at Kristen in the lake and ended up making her bleed!

6 The Berkshires With Dorinda

The Berkshires always seems like a good idea but never end well. Another failed attempt of getting away from the city is when Dorinda invited the girls over to her Berkshires home for the weekend. It was her birthday week and Dorinda thought it would have been a nice getaway for everyone. Sadly, Luann and Bethenny couldn’t stop fighting and then Luann and Ramona started gossiping about Dorinda’s handmade cake made by her mother… By that point, Dorinda had enough. In her own words, “I cooked, I cleaned, I made it nice!” Seeing Dorinda break down over her horrible house guests has turned into a GIF and meme.

5 The Making Of ‘Chic, C’est La Vie’

Part of what made the Countess, the Countess, was her desire for all things proper. She truly thought she was royalty. After her divorce to the count himself, Luann kept the countess persona and started coming out with her own music. For her song “Chic C’est La Vie,” Luann didn’t just film the making of it on TV, but she had Kelly Killoren Bensimon and Jill Zarin star in it as well. Seeing how nervous Jill was about the music video was gold. And let’s not forget seeing Luann shine while singing her own songs!

4 Ramona’s Runway Walk

In the third season of RHONY, Kelly and Alex were asked to walk in their friend’s fashion show. Ramona, of course, hates being left out and asked if she could walk in the show too, and she was given the green light. What happened next was the most amazing catwalk the world has ever seen. Wearing a short black dress, Ramona strutted down the catwalk with her “crazy eyes” on, smoldering at the camera.

To be fair, Ramona is not a model and was just trying her best, but her best became an instant GIF.

3 Hurricane Leah

Leah McSweeney joined RHONY this season in season 12 but she’s quickly becoming a fan favorite. She’s younger than the other women and adds some much-needed modernity to the show. Besides how gorgeous and successful Leah is, she’s fun to watch because of how she acts after drinking too much. She’s admitted that things get crazy when she drinks and she’s not wrong. So far she’s already gotten naked and skinny-dipped in Ramona’s pool, threw a tiki torch, and rolled around on the grasses of Newport. She lives her life in the fast lane and makes no apologies, which is why fans love her.

2 ‘Be Cool, Don’t Be All, Like, UnCool’

Things always go down in flames when the women are on vacation or at the dinner table! While the women were vacationing in Turks and Caicos, Luann ended up getting drunk and spending the night with a mystery suitor. The next morning, Heather finds the man sleeping in the room attached to hers with no Luann in sight. She immediately gets weirded out and yells at Luann and Ramona for their late-night partying but Luann wasn’t phased. “Be cool. Don’t be all, like, uncool” she says to Heather in a robe, bathing suit, and sunglasses.

1 The Cartagena Cruise Mishap

While the ladies of New York were vacationing (yet again) in Cartagena, Colombia in season 10, they took a boat trip for the day. However, the rough waters and what appeared to be a mechanical issue led to their boat capsizing in the middle of the ocean. Bethenny, Sonja, Romania, Dorinda, Tinsley, and Carole were all on board while the boat was going down. Cameras caught a bit of the action before it became too much. The ladies were all crying and screaming until a neighboring boat saw their struggle and saved their lives. The terrifying moment encouraged Ramona to take swimming lessons in later seasons…
