With just two episodes remaining in the 18th season of ABC’s hit reality dating show The Bachelorette, all eyes look to see who Michelle Young will choose to give her final rose to. The season has come with no shortage of dramatic arguments and confrontational fights, a major staple of what makes the TV series so compelling.

As fans eagerly wait to see who Michelle will run off into the sunset with on December 21, 2021, now is a great time to take a look back at some of the biggest and most memorable showdowns, combative encounters, and chaotic dust-ups in series history.

Emily Vs. Kalon – Season 8

Emily Maynard was named The Bachelorette of Season 8, which ended with a marriage proposal from Arie Luyendyk. While Arie and Jef Holm fell out of favor after the season, it was the fight between Emily and suitor Kalon McMahon that stands out the most.

After Kalon learned that Emily had a daughter named Ricki, he almost immediately referred to the young girl as “baggage.” As a result, Emily flew off the rails and shouted “get the f*** out now!” and put a swift end to Kalon’s time in the mansion.

Shawn Vs. Nick – Season 11

During Kaitlyn Bristowe’s time on The Bachelorette 11, a contentious love triangle between her, Nick Viall, and Shawn Booth led to one of the most direct, awkward, and uncomfortable confrontations in show history. A seemingly mature sit down between the two men quickly devolved into a heated exchange of insults.

After directly questioning Shawn’s motives, Shawn retorts by saying “you haven’t even spent time trying to get to know me.” Nick crudely cuts Shawn off, saying “because I don’t want to. You’re manipulative, arrogant, you’re just a cocky guy.” Still, Shawn ultimately won Kaitlyn’s heart.

Clint Vs. JJ – Season 11

In a clash of testosterone that would make professional wrestlers proud, Clint and JJ’s mano y mano showdown during Kaitlyn’s season 11 is one for The Bachelorette books. What makes the fight so tragic is that two men started the season as best friends who forged a heartwarming bromance before becoming sworn enemies.

When JJ tries to console Clint by putting an arm on his shoulder, Clint brushes it off, saying “don’t touch me. Nut up or shut up dude because I gonna f***ing kill you.” A slew of profane, face-to-face insults ensues before Clint ends the fight by saying “hey, that tie goes really well with your shirt, you f***ing POS!”

Kaitlyn Vs. Ian – Season 11

Kaitlyn Bristowe’s time on Season 11 continued to be a contentious one when she got into an ugly argument with Ian Thompson, a suitor who started the fight by calling her personality shallow. Kaitlyn rightly responded with ire and sent Ian packing. Still, the insolence left an emotional scar for which Ian felt the need to apologize on the Men Tell All episode.

After claiming to have received death threats following her row with Ian on the show, Ian got down on one knee and professed his undying remorse, apologizing “for any backlash” that he may have caused her among the public. Kaitlyn avoided the high road and ignored his apology.

Chad Vs. Evan – Season 12

Chad Johnson often proved to be the resident instigator in the Bachelorette mansion, having first shown his ultra-aggressive and physically threatening demeanor in Season 12. Vying for Jojo Fletcher’s affection, fan-favorite villains Chad and Evan argued time and again on the show, ultimately devolving into a profane and hands-on confrontation.

When Evan joked about Chad taking steroids, Chad went ballistic, saying “you’re going to f***ing die, dude, if you don’t chill out” while ripping Evan’s shirt in the process. In his return on Bachelor in Paradise 3, Chad still harbored ill will against Evan, saying “I still kind of want to cut his head off and throw it in the water.” Yikes!

Kenny Vs. Lee – Season 13

When Lee Garrett called Kenny King “aggressive” in Rachel Lindsay’s season 13, he was, in turn labeled a racist for the insensitive language. Kenny took umbrage with the accusation, leading to an unresolved conflict that left everyone feeling ill at ease.

Once Rachel sent Lee packing following a 2-on-1 date, the beef between Kenny and Lee persisted, with a host of racially insensitive tweets brought up on the Men Tell All after-program. Lee apologized, prompting Kenny to declare “everybody’s sorry when they caught.”

Rachel Vs. Demario – Season 13

While Lee and Kenny’s beef made things awkward can be in the mansion, Rachel was no stranger to her own dramatic rows during Season 13. After seeing right through Demario Jackson’s playboy vibes, Rachel confronted her suitor in a major mic drop moment.

Rachel opens the exchange by saying “I put myself out there and I’ve sent people home who genuinely I felt wanted to be here and I have no idea why you’re here right now.” Demario makes a half-hearted attempt to defend himself before Rachel adds “I’m not here to be played, I’m not here to be made a joke of, which is what I feel like you’re doing right now with me. So I’m really gonna need you to get the f*** out!”

Luke Vs. Luke S. – Season 15

As the rude, aggressive, and annoying villain of Hannah Brown’s Season 15, Luke Parker got in more fights than any contestant on The Bachelorette. One of his biggest confrontations came in a rugby contest in which he physically overpowered Luke Stone.

Following the physical scrum, Luke S. confronts Luke P. in a heart-to-heart sitdown, which only escalates into a shouting match as the former decries “it makes me so angry that I have to defend myself over some garbage fed to her (Hannah) by some psychopath. I never wanna see you again in my life. Seriously.”

Luke P. Vs. Garrett – Season 15

Following a half-hearted apology to Luke S., Luke P. wasted little time crossing the line with Garrett Powell in yet another memorable season 15 melee. After a messy group date that saw Garrett make romantic inroads with Hannah, Luke went absolutely ballistic on his rival, jamming a finger in his face and barking “I’ve been nothing but truthful to Hannah and you’re not going to mess it up!”

If the one-sided fight wasn’t uncomfortable enough, Luke put an exclamation point on the assault by dumping a tray of bologna onto Garrett’s unsuspecting lap. Cold cuts indeed!

Luke P. Vs. Hannah – Season 15

The biggest fight Luke had during his time on The Bachelorette includes the time he suddenly returned to the show after he was eliminated by Hannah Brown. Like an unkillable horror movie villain who won’t go away, Luke storms onto the set with an engagement ring in tow, ready to sweep Hannah off of her feet.

Of course, the wildly misguided return led to massive pushback from Hannah, who angrily shouted “f***ing leave” and “please get away from me.” When Luke failed to budge, Hannah simply moved the podium around the stage to keep Luke out of her shot, indicating the final straw in their relationship.
