The 8 WORST Call Of Duty Perks (And 7 Best!!)

How many of you use perks in Call of Duty? That’s right, basically, everyone uses some kind of perk when they are playing this first-person shooter. Well, let me tell you that the perks that you are currently using in either multiplayer or zombies are absolutely terrible! Now, hold on a minute before you attack me with pitch forks and listen to what I have to say. Call of Duty perks are a pivotal part of the game after all if you don’t have Juggernog in a zombie’s map you are basically their next dinner meal before the end of round ten. However, if you pick an absolutely useless perk in a zombie’s map such as Deadshot you are just throwing the game away for you and your team as you have a terrible perk.

Now, I believe that many of you will agree with me when I say that picking the right perk is essential for winning a multiplayer game or surviving longer in zombies. That is why in this article I am going to detail the fifteen best and worst perks in the entire Call of Duty franchise. This means that whether you are a Black Ops kind of guy or you are an avid gamer of the Modern Warfare series this article will have something for all of you. I believe it is now time for us to get into the fifteen best and worst Call of Duty Perks.

15 Worst: Deadshot Daiquiri

The 8 WORST Call Of Duty Perks (And 7 Best!!)

That’s right, we are kicking this list off with a terrible zombie perk. Now, don’t get me wrong I love getting some auto assisted headshots on zombies, but there is a downside to this perk. The downside is that this perk is completely useless for someone who even has the slightest working knowledge of how to use the controls. Right, ask yourself this question, why do you feel the need to buy a perk that costs 1500 points just to help you aim better? Yes, this perk doesn’t just auto aim, but it also narrows your weapon’s crosshairs by 35% giving you a better aim of the zombie’s head. However, if you are somewhat decent at the game, you should be able to aim all by yourself without the auto aim on or the 35% narrower crosshairs. This perk just gives idiot players easy headshots which make them think that they’re better than everyone in the game and that should be another one of Call of Duty’s glaring problems.

14 Best: Ghost

The 8 WORST Call Of Duty Perks (And 7 Best!!)

Let me start this point off by saying that this perk is essential to use when you are playing multiplayer on basically every game mode. The reason to why this perk is one of the best in the franchise is because it allows you not to be spotted on the mini map when an enemy is using a UAV. This is great news for the player with this perk as your enemies will be unaware that you are anywhere near them as they expect that all of your team is on the mini map, but you won’t be because of this perk. This perk now gives you an advantage over the other team since their guard will be down because that they ‘think’ they know where everyone is on the map. With their guard down it will allow you to kill them easily as they won’t be suspecting that you are close to them ready to pounce.

13 Worst: Mule Kick

The 8 WORST Call Of Duty Perks (And 7 Best!!)

I know that some of you love the idea of having a third gun in zombies in case your other two guns run out of ammo, but what happens when you get killed or even go down? Yes, within seconds you may have just got a ray gun as your third weapon but as soon as you turn around you can get downed, and you lose it forever. What makes it even worse is if you Pack-a-Punch that third Random Box weapon and then get downed. Yes, that rage filled gamer has not only spent 4000 points on the perk, but also 950 points on the Random Box and 5000 points on the Pack-a-Punch machine. The bottom line is that you can spend thousands upon thousands of your points just for a third weapon to have it taken away from you within seconds. It’s not great.

12 Best: Second Chance Pro

The 8 WORST Call Of Duty Perks (And 7 Best!!)

This perk is amazing in multiplayer as it can keep your K/D positive and it also allows you to get revenge on the person that downed you. What this awesome perk does is help you when you get shot or stabbed so that you don’t die, but instead, you go down like in zombies mode, and another teammate can revive you. Once a teammate revives you, you will be able to play normally again, and the best part is that if a player revives your soldier, your ‘down’ won’t count as a death which keeps your K/D positive. Overall, if you want to avenge yourself by killing that enemy that downed you while keeping your K/D at a good rate, this is the perk for you.

11 Worst: Tombstone Soda

The 8 WORST Call Of Duty Perks (And 7 Best!!)

This zombie perk causes a lot of anger and rage within the Call of Duty franchise and the reason for that is because it emphasizes the player’s greed. What this perk does is that once you go down this perk gives you the option to bleed out so you can die. Now, once you die you will spawn again in the next round, and you will run to a tombstone, and once you run to that tombstone, you will reclaim all of your perks and also all your weapons. This portrays the gamer with Tombstone as greedy as for example; they won’t want to be revived because if they get revived, they will lose all their perks. The bottom line is that this perk is yet another way that Call of Duty is ruining the FPS genre.

10 Best: One Man Army

The 8 WORST Call Of Duty Perks (And 7 Best!!)

Let me just say that the title really says it all. Now, to further elaborate on the title the perk itself is overpowered, to say the least. This perk is actually so overpowered that it is now a common meme in the Call of Duty franchise. This is because this perk allows you to switch weapon classes without respawning, and the best part of this is that you can switch to the same class repeatedly. This is great news as you will never run out of ammo for any of your favourite guns. It is also worth mentioning that the switching of classes only takes around five seconds and within those five seconds you have an unlimited amount of ammo. Overall, if you want to have unlimited ammo for all types of weapons including lethal grenade launchers then this is the perfect perk for you.

9 Worst: Who’s Who

The 8 WORST Call Of Duty Perks (And 7 Best!!)

This perk is terrible! Short and simple. With this perk, once you go down, you can clone yourself, and then play as the clone — and you will have to revive yourself. However, the problem with this is that if your clone also goes down, your teammates will have no idea who the real player is as your clone will be beside you. What this means is that if one of your teammates accidentally revives the clone and not you, you have just wasted their time as they will have to revive you as well. This makes it more likely that when your teammate is reviving you, they will also go down. This is because they can’t defend themselves when they are reviving you or your clone.

8 Best: Last Stand

The 8 WORST Call Of Duty Perks (And 7 Best!!)

This perk is personally one of my favourites as you get to avenge yourself against the person that downed you. With this perk equipped, any damage that would normally kill you, will only ‘down’ you. Once you go down, you will have a pistol with an unlimited amount of ammo, and this will allow you to kill the person that downed you. It is worth noting that this is similar to Second Chance Pro however you cannot be revived in Last Stand. Overall, if you want to get the satisfying feeling of revenge on the person that downed you, you now can have that feeling within seconds of them downing you by buying this perk.

7 Worst: Double Tap 1.0

The 8 WORST Call Of Duty Perks (And 7 Best!!)

Let me start this one off by saying that this perk was so bad that Treyarch actually removed it completely from the franchise and replaced it with Double Tap 2.0. What this perk did was that it increased your fire rate by 33% and by doing that it also increased the weapon’s recoil. This was terrible since a higher recoil made it harder to control and aim at the zombies. What made this perk even worse is if you got the Pack-a-Punch/upgrade. This is bad as the Pack-a-Punch Machine will also increase the fire rate of your weapon which will add even more recoil to the weapon and that will make it basically impossible for you to even shoot the zombies. Overall, this perk was terrible since it could make killing zombies even harder than it was without it!

6 Best: Shades

The 8 WORST Call Of Duty Perks (And 7 Best!!)

This perk is one of the best perks in the entire franchise as it reduces the effects of signal flares. This perk is great because it gives you the ability to trick your opponent into thinking you are blinded when you are actually not. This means you will have the advantage over your opponent as they think you are blinded by the flare so they won’t be as careful or cautious as they would be if they thought you weren’t blinded. Their carelessness could consist of running out in the middle of the room or changing classes whilst in front of you. Overall, this perk is very important to use in multiplayer as it gives you an advantage over your enemies. This is again because they will be careless as they think your blind so you can capitalize on their carelessness and get an easy kill.

5 Worst: Eavesdrop

The 8 WORST Call Of Duty Perks (And 7 Best!!)

What makes this perk terrible is the fact that you can only hear an enemy’s footsteps if they are literally a few meters away from you. This means by the time you hear their footsteps they are already right in front of you shooting at you and you’ll probably get killed by them because you were distracted by their footsteps. It is also worth mentioning that if you are playing multiplayer with your friends, you won’t even hear the enemy footsteps as you will probably be too busy flaming your friends for their own mistakes. The bottom line of this terrible perk is that why would you waste a slot of your limited multiplayer perks just for the perk itself to distract you which gives the enemy a better chance to kill you?

4 Best: PHD Flopper

The 8 WORST Call Of Duty Perks (And 7 Best!!)

Now, this perk is by far my personal favourite in the whole franchise, and the reason for that is simple. It’s fun! This perk can only be used in the zombie’s game mode and what this perk does is that once you do a dolphin dive off a high platform, you will create an explosion around you which will kill lots of zombies. It is also worth mentioning that not only is this perk fun but it is also useful as if your friends are below your platform and they are about to get downed by zombies, you are able to save them. This is because you can dolphin dive off your platform and land beside them which will kill all the zombies around you, and in turn, you will be saving your teammates. This shows that the perk isn’t only fun, but it’s also useful whilst playing the game.

3 Worst: Dead Silence

The 8 WORST Call Of Duty Perks (And 7 Best!!)

You may think that having this perk is great because it lowers the audio of your footsteps by 60%. However, there is a terrible downside to this stealth perk. The main problem with this perk is that every time you drop from higher ground onto lower ground, it will always make a noise. It is also worth noting that switching your weapons and hiding in bushes will still also make a noise. Overall, what all this means is that even though this perk says it will lower the sound of your footsteps your enemy will still be able to hear you which makes this a useless and terrible perk. You’ve been warned COD fans, you can DO better than this waste-of-space perk.

2 Best: Danger Close

The 8 WORST Call Of Duty Perks (And 7 Best!!)

This perk is incredible as it increases the range of explosives by 40% which means that you have a better chance of killing your enemies as the range is larger. It is also worth noting that not only does it increase the range of explosives in your weapon class but it also increases the range of your explosive killstreaks. The only way that people are able to combat against this perk is to either get out of the way of the explosions which is nearly impossible or battle against it with a combat shield. Yes, this means that with this perk you can force an entire team to use combat shields as they can’t defend themselves any other way. Overall, this perk is so powerful that it can force an entire team to change all of their weapons and hide indoors as the explosions are that impressive.

1 Worst: Scrambler

The 8 WORST Call Of Duty Perks (And 7 Best!!)

This perk is known as one of the worst perks in Call of Duty history and there is a reason for that. What this perk does is it scrambles your enemies radar when you are near them, so you have the advantage to kill them. That may seem very helpful. However, the problem with this perk is that once the enemy’s radar goes all scrambled they will obviously know that you are close to them. Yes, the enemy will now know that you are close to them which allows them to prepare to kill you when you go to attack them. Overall, this perk is terrible because it gives away your location to an enemy that is close to you and it will allow them to get ready to kill you when you are about to attack. This perk is yet another thing that Call of Duty needs to stop in all their games.
