Austen Kroll from Southern Charm says he predicted Craig Conover and Paige DeSorbo’s relationship while filming Winter House. Craig, who is also from Southern Charm, has known Paige and the cats of Summer House for years. In fact, both Craig and Austen made a cross-over during an episode of Summer House. At the time, neither Paige nor Craig was interested in each other since one of them was always in a relationship.
In February, when cast members from the two Bravo shows joined a cabin in Vermont for a few weeks, no one knew who in the house would find a love connection. At the time, Paige was fresh off her breakup from Perry, while Craig was in a relationship with someone he had been seeing for a year. While it is unclear when Paige and Craig started their relationship, it seems Austen may have seen it coming.
On Monday, E! News shared an interview with Austen where he spoke about the upcoming season premiere of Winter House and Paige and Craig’s budding romance. “A thousand percent, I see why they get along,” the reality star said of the new couple. “It’s something that I thought was going to happen in the house, but Craig had a girlfriend. You’ll see some different things happen there. I for sure saw this happening.” Despite the Sewing Down South creator having a girlfriend, at the time, Austen knew Craig, who is happy for Madison LeCroy’s engagement, would spark something with Paige eventually. Now the couple is flying back and forth from New York City to Charleston to see each other. He revealed that the pair is very flexible when it comes to traveling so, it’s been easy for them to see each other.
The 34-year-old added, “They vibe with each other well. Like, Craig is so more up her alley than other people in the house I think. […] they laugh, and banter and vibe that’s what I think makes them [work].” The news outlet then proceeded to ask Austen if the fashion contributor will appear on season 8 of Southern Charm. He responded, “Who’s to say she hasn’t already?” The new couple was first rumored to be dating in April 2021 after fans saw the pair hanging out together in Charleston along with Austen and Paige’s Summer House costar Ciara Miller. Paige quickly shut down the rumors during a podcast appearance, confirming the two were nothing more than friends at the time. Fast forward four months, Paige and Craig were spotted again for a golf event in New Jersey; however, a source confirmed the two were still just good friends. Less than two months later, another insider admitted their friendship had grown into a relationship over the past few months.
Now that Austen has confirmed the romance between his Winter House costars Paige and Craig, it seems they will be more open when it comes to their relationship. Austen, like many fans of the couple, has been waiting for this day to come and is so happy with this new Bravo coupling.
